VIDEO: Whistler, November 2013

Whistler will always be one of my favorite places.  Early in my teens, my parents got a time share in the Whistler Village.  Ever since then, we’ve been going a few times each year to enjoy the Village and the countless things it has to offer.  We’ve had tons of adventures in Whistler and made awesome memories there (my husband and I even spent our honeymoon there in the summer of 2012!).

For this trip to Whistler, Matt and I drove ourselves up to the Village on the Monday before Thanksgiving.  We were there by ourselves for a few days, and then my Mom and Dad met us there the night before Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving also happened to be opening day on the mountains, so we decided to hit the slopes.  The snow was choppy (and pretty icy), but we still enjoyed ourselves.  On top of that, Tourism Whistler hooked us up with a Ziptrek Tour, something we’ve wanted to do for ages!  We had a blast zipping through the treetops on Whistler mountain.  The Ziptrek footage was shot by Matt, 100% via a helmet mount.

We shot this video completely on our GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition camera.  We had recently picked up the GoPro Jaws: Flex Clamp and were experimenting with it (and the GoPro in general) on this trip.  The Jaws really easily clamped onto my ski pole (as well as my skis when I was carrying them), and made for some pretty neat shots.  We also suction cupped the GoPro to the roof of our car for a bit to get some shots of the incredible Sea to Sky Highway.

VIDEO: Las Vegas, July 2013

In July, my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary and we decided to go on an adventure to celebrate.  We headed to Las Vegas and stayed at The Mirage for a few nights and had a blast!  Our incredible trip included watching the 4th of July fireworks from our room, doing the Mirage’s Dolphin Trainer for A Day program at their education and research center (we learned SO much!), relaxing, and just enjoying the warm weather (it was a dry 107* every day we were there!).

VIDEO: Stoneway CrossFit Resolution Revolution 3 Preview

For the past few years, Stoneway CrossFit has held Resolution Revolution, a competition-style CrossFit event, right at the beginning of the year to encourage people to kick off the new year with fitness in mind.  I love helping with the promotion for the event.  Just about a month before (the event is Feb. 1), we released this quick preview, meant to entice members and get them wondering what’ll be happening at this year’s competition.  Want to get registered?  Groups of two (one male and one female) can email to get signed up!

VIDEO: Happy Anniversary to Alex and Shaun!

My sister Alex married Shaun January 5th of 2013 in the most incredible wedding ever.  Alex wanted to be a snow princess on her big day, and she absolutely was.  They were married at the Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth, Washington on a day that couldn’t have been more perfect.  The ceremony took place outside in a field (we were bundled up, no worries!), and the snow falling was like something out of a movie.  Afterwards, everyone warmed up with a rockin’ reception complete with karaoke and ice cream cake.  If was one of the most unique weddings I’ve ever been a part of, and couldn’t be more excited for Alex and Shaun.  (Thanks to my friend Joel Telling for the copter/GoPro and ceremony footage!)

Check out the trailer I made for their big day right here.
